Young techies develop apps to connect women entrepreneurs
Young techies from Brazil, Costa Rica, Kenya and Thailand competed as finalists in the first-ever Women Vendors Exhibition and Forum (WVEF) Tech Challenge, with apps designed to help women do more business.
Nairobi-based GreenBell Communications won first place, and as a result, will have its app developed later this year.
The Tech Challenge – organized by the International Trade Centre, Google and CI&T – is in support of a call to action to bring 1 million women entrepreneurs into the global marketplace by 2020. The call to action was launched ahead of the Women Vendors Exhibition and Forum (WVEF) on 2-3 September 2015 in São Paulo, Brazil.
