Sustainable Development Goals

This project contributes to the following Sustainable Development Goals, as defined by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

<p style="text-align: justify;">The project aims at building consensus among policy makers and the business community to introduce innovative trade facilitation instruments contributing to resilient, efficient, inclusive and sustainable border environments. It will address the needs of our beneficiary and contribute to ITC strategic priorities</p><ul><li>Accelerate the introduction of paperless-trade solution by digitalizing border operations</li><li>Facilitate safe and efficient trade of agricultural products, including within short food supply chains at regional levels&nbsp;</li><li>Reduce the carbon footprint of cross-border trade procedures as well as CO2 emission linked to border delays&nbsp;</li><li>Promote &ldquo;inclusive borders&rdquo; to generate sustainable livelihood for vulnerable communities</li></ul><p style="text-align: justify;">The project will focus on 4 streams of activities:</p><ul><li style="text-align: justify;">Publications are developed to highlight innovative TF solutions for food security, digitalization, and reduced environmental impact&nbsp;</li><li style="text-align: justify;">New tools are developed to facilitate the digitalization of trade formalities</li><li style="text-align: justify;">New awareness programmes are piloted to promote TF as an enabler of inclusive and sustainable border environments</li><li style="text-align: justify;">New training services are pioneered to capacitate policy makers to create conducive border environments</li></ul>
