<p>The online training programme, co-designed with ITC experts from Sector and Economic Competitiveness (SEC) and Trade and Market Intelligence (TMI), will be implemented in collaboration with private sector partners.&nbsp;The training aims to:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Assess the women-led businesses’ readiness to export to under the AfCFTA;</li><li>Increase their knowledge of export requirements, procedures, and solutions.</li><li>Increase their capacity to develop an export strategy.</li><li>Enhance their capacity for production, processing, promotion, marketing, and value chain development under the AfCFTA.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Target audience: Formal women-led businesses in the processed food sector interested in starting or increasing exports to African markets.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The session takes place in the framework of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva. It will delve into the dynamic landscape of African tech hubs, which have surpassed 1000 in number, and their pivotal role in propelling digital, social, and economic transformations by fostering startup ecosystems, drawing insights from the 3d edition of ITC's Tech Hubs in Africa report. Rather than a traditional report summary, this session will provide key highlights and actionable insights derived from an in-depth examination of the impact of COVID-19 on tech hubs across the continent.</p><p>The session will highlight the resilience demonstrated by tech hubs during the pandemic, drawing on a survey of 52 hubs and interviews with numerous others. Identified resilient business models that successfully navigated the challenges posed by the pandemic will be discussed. Drawing from the findings of the International Trade Centre (ITC) survey, the most defining parameter for the success of tech hubs during challenging times is their ability to digitalize services. Insights into how digitalization played a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the operations of these hubs will be discussed.</p><p>The session will position the report as a practical toolkit for governments and funders seeking successful investments in tech entrepreneurship support infrastructure. <p>Like a genie trapped in a bottle, information was once contained in books and tightly controlled by newspapers. Then the Internet was launched 50 years ago as a way for government researchers to share information – 534 years after Gutenberg created his printing press. Now, with the latest wave of AI-generated tools, anyone can publish their ideas, opinions, and experiences. AI as a force in business has been unleashed, and it is changing how we work and what we read.</p><p>This is the launch of a new ITC report called `Living with the Genie – Artificial Intelligence in Content Creation for Small Businesses in Trade`. Authors, contributors and external guests explore the promise and perils of AI tools when creating content in the workplace.</p><p>The launch is taking place on Thursday, 14 March at 15:30 at the International Trade Centre, 54-56 rue de Montbrillant in Geneva and will be followed by an apéro.
