<p>The International Trade Centre (ITC) invites small businesses from developing countries working in the processed food sector, consumer goods sector and services to apply for ITC support to attend the China International Import Expo 2024 from 5-10 November in Shanghai, China.</p><p>China is the world's second-largest importer and consumer, and the China International Import Expo (CIIE) is the largest import expo in the world. This creates enormous export opportunities for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) from developing countries. </p><p>ITC) is for the 7th time supporting the participation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) from developing countries in the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) on 5-10 November 2024 in Shanghai, China. </p><p>CIIE 2024 will be co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. Government officials, business communities, exhibitors and professional buyers across the world are expected to participate again in CIIE. <p>Funded by United Kingdom (UK) International Development, the International Trade Centre’s (ITC) SheTrades Commonwealth+ Programme is organizing two in-person workshops to enable women-led businesses to navigate and succeed in corporate supply chains. <p>GTEX/MENATEX Egypt is organizing a gathering for local experts and partner institutions as an opportunity for the GTEX/MENATEX experts to share more on their journey with the project, as well as expertise and experience with beneficiary textile and clothing companies. Training methodologies, success stories and case studies of applied knowledge due to coaching and support offered to the companies within the framework of the project will be presented. </p>

<p>The GTEX MENATEX project in Egypt is entering its 3rd year of implementation and it is now time to take stock of the numerous results achieved by beneficiary companies. As the world is recovering from the pandemic and as demand in textile and garment is slowly picking up, Egyptian manufacturers are more than ever confronted to the needs of becoming even more competitive while complying to strict environmental and social standards. The GTEX MENATEX project is supporting companies to be better equipped to face these issues and promote the “Made in Egypt” brand in international markets as a sourcing destination which is reliable, efficient but also conscious of environment and respectful of its workers.</p>
