He is the founder of Akoroko LLC, launched in 2022 as a dedicated platform for comprehensive African cinema coverage, and co-founder of African Film Press (AFP), an initiative tackling the lack of data and market intelligence in Africa’s screen industries. Formerly the principal Black cinema writer at IndieWire (2018–2022) and founder of the influential blog Shadow and Act (2009), Tambay continues to shape global discourse on African and diasporic film.</p><p><strong>- Serge Noukoué (Okada Media, France/Benin)</strong></p><p>A Franco-Beninese film industry expert and the founder of Okada Media, a company dedicated to the promotion and distribution of African and diaspora cinema. With a strong background in international sales and programming, he has been instrumental in creating opportunities for African films on global platforms. Notably, Serge negotiated the licensing of The Girl in the Yellow Jumper—a Ugandan thriller—to Netflix, marking a significant milestone for East African cinema. He is also known for co-founding NollywoodWeek Paris, a festival that showcases the best of Nigerian and African cinema in France. His work continues to elevate African storytelling and expand its reach to international audiences.<br> </p><p>- <strong>Dennis Ruh (Seriesly Berlin, Germany)</strong></p><p>A renowned figure in the international film industry, with extensive experience in film promotion and global market development. He previously served as the Director of the European Film Market (EFM) at the Berlin International Film Festival, one of the world’s most prestigious film markets. In this role, he was instrumental in shaping industry trends, fostering international collaborations, and supporting emerging voices in global cinema. Dennis is also a key contributor to Seriously Berlin, a platform focused on spotlighting new talent and thought leadership in the film world. He has served as a jury member at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), further reinforcing his commitment to championing diverse and global storytelling. COMESA: Africa Trade Competitiveness & Market Access (ATCMA) Programme
<p>The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Trade Competitiveness and Market Access (ATCMA) Programme<span> </span>is part of a broader initiative under the ATCMA <span> </span>Programme, with other regional components such as the ECCAS ATCMA<span> </span>, the SADC ATCMA<span> </span> and the ECOWAS ATCMA<span> </span>. It is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The programme aims to enhance trade competitiveness and market access in Eastern and Southern Africa. In line with the AfCFTA, the programme focuses on improving regional competitiveness, integrating economies into continental and global value chains, and promoting sustainable trade between Africa and the EU.</p><p>Key objectives include supporting African countries in meeting international trade standards through improved testing, certification, and accreditation, while maximizing MSMEs' export potential by addressing market access barriers, enhancing value addition, and promoting sustainability and technology transfer. The programme contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals, including economic growth, sustainable industrialization, responsible production, and gender equality. </p>
