<p>The project aims <strong>to advance the EU-Central Asia connectivity agenda through increasing the operational efficiency of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and internationalisation of Central Asian business.</strong> This will be achieved through simplifying cross-border formalities in Central Asia to attract trade and sustainable investment; improving regional coordination across Central Asian countries to foster trade and transport connectivity; and enhancing the competitiveness of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to facilitate their access to regional and EU markets, including through leveraging the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor.<span> </span></p><p>Part of the EU-funded “Prosperity in Central Asia” programme, the project builds on the results of the EU-funded Ready4Trade Central Asia (2020-2024). </p><p>The project will involve a wide range of Central Asian stakeholders in the implementation of its activities, such as <span>governmental bodies, including relevant ministries, border regulatory agencies and customs authorities within the region; as well as local business support organizations (BSOs)</span><span> and academia.</span></p>

Improving the cross-border trade environment by simplifying procedures, facilitating the exchange of best practices, supporting the establishment of a National Trade Facilitation Committee, and providing other relevant technical support.
Strengthening policymakers’ capacity for WTO accession process
Providing assistance in the preparation of negotiation documents and implementing national legislative reforms, as well as organizing training sessions for government officials and the private sector.
Improving ecosystem for investment facilitation and e-commerce
Analyzing the national investment framework and developing recommendations on improving the investment climate, reviewing the e-commerce ecosystem to formulate policies to promote its development in Turkmenistan.
Enhancing SME integration in sustainable value chains
Analyzing value chains for target sectors / developing roadmaps, strengthening SME capacities to improve international competitiveness, and supporting the establishment of market linkages.
Advancing gender-responsive trade facilitation practicesTraining and coaching women entrepreneurs, strengthening the capacity of government institutions to integrate gender perspectives into trade, and providing other relevant support to create a favorable business environment for women. |
