TPO Network Conference: Kuala Lumpur, 18-19 October
The International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) announced today that the ninth Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) Network World Conference and Awards will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 18-19 October with the theme Transforming TPOs’ Business through Innovation. The event, which is jointly organized by ITC and MATRADE, will bring together more than 200 top level practitioners from TPOs and other experts to discuss methods of ensuring they obtain strong impact from their trade development services.
‘Innovation is necessary to respond to challenges and opportunities, especially in such a volatile economic environment,’ said Ms. Patricia R. Francis, Executive Director of ITC. ‘ITC encourages innovations in trade promotion organizations for better solutions and improved services to their clients.’
‘The conference is focusing on innovation because it is part of the change formula of modern day living,’ said Dr. Wong Lai Sum, CEO of MATRADE. ‘It permeates into all spheres, including trade and business. It is creativity in being nouveau and fresh that sells products and services.’
The conference will explore how TPOs can develop and implement innovations to better serve exporters. Participants will gain practical knowledge from peers who will showcase good practices and will expand their contacts through networking opportunities.
