The Senegalese Export Promotion Agency (ASEPEX) on 29 May appointed Mr Alioune Sarr as its new Director.
On 30 May Mr Sarr received Mr Mehdi Chaker, Project Manager of NTFII Senegal who, on behalf of ITC, congratulated ASEPEX and Mr Sarr on the appointment, and expressed hopes for continued good collaboration between the two partners.
During the meeting, Mr Chaker gave a detailed presentation about the NTFII Senegal project, emphasising in particular its achievements so far, as well as the important role of its partners - ASEPEX and CEFHAS. He also informed about the programme’s objectives, approach and methodologies, and outlined the working plan through 2013.
Mr Sarr, who has a background in information-system engineering and institutional-business management, highlighted the importance of the project for the Senegalese mango sector and the institutional enhancement of ASEPEX through training in monitoring, evaluation and quality control. He also said that he hoped to visit ITC's Geneva headquarters and to enhance cooperation in the framework of NTFII and other initiatives.
