The Co-chair of the Public Private Dialogue Steering Committee (PPDSC) and Director General of the Pakistan Institute of Trade And Development (PITAD) formally submitted to the Government of Pakistan two policy recommendation papers for consideration and potential implementation.

In 2011, the Ministry of Commerce established the fifteen member PPDSC under the ITC’s Trade Related Technical Assistance (TRTA) II programme, aimed at steering the process of public private dialogue (PPD) on issues related to trade policy and regulatory reform. The PPDSC was also tasked with commissioning a number of research studies to feed into the PPDs to formulate research based policy options.

These two papers stem from this research and are entitled “Promoting Exports of Professional, Computer Related and Transport Services” and “Enhancing Exports of Light Engineering and Textile Made-ups to the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Countries”.

The papers can be found on the TRTA web site.
