Join the Award Ceremony: Digital Champions for Small Business
By bringing more small businesses into the digital economy, we help them grow, trade, and become resilient.
This was the message sent out to industry associations, chambers of commerce, as well as business support and non-governmental organizations this summer, inviting them to becomeDigital Champion for small business.
The World Trade Organization’s Informal Working Group on Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) called these organizations for prize-winning ideas that help small, exporting businesses in going digital.
And they answered!
The winning proposals will be announced on 2 December, at 14:30 CET.

The innovative projects brought forth by the winners will not only raise awareness of the difficulties small businesses are facing when wanting to trade digitally but will also promote best practices in digital trade.
Ultimately, the initiative will help small businesses go digital and increase their participation in international trade with the Awards sponsored by Google and Zoom, who are offering trainings and other support to the small businesses involved.
At the event, Ambassador José-Luis Cancela, Coordinator of the Informal Working Group on MSMEs, together with ICC Secretary General John Denton, ITC Executive Director Pamela Coke-Hamilton and representatives of Google and Zoom, will present the awards to the four finalists.
Background
The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of the digital economy for businesses of all sizes throughout the world. MSMEs have historically struggled to enter the digital economy, due to lack of awareness, resources or technological know-how. The aim of the competition is to bring more MSMEs into the digital economy to help them grow, trade and become resilient.
