Powering Dignity: Financial solutions for refugees and vulnerable communities
Overview
Financial exclusion is one of the greatest barriers for forcibly displaced individuals from achieving economic independence. Refugees and vulnerable communities face unique challenges in accessing formal banking services, credit, and financial tools that are essential for starting businesses, securing employment, and integrating them into local economies. Addressing these gaps requires innovative approaches and collaborative efforts from financial institutions, the private sector, and development organizations.
As part of the Africa Forum on Displacement 2025 theme "All In", particularly in the dimensions of INclusion, INvestment, and INnovation, this breakfast roundtable seeks to address the financial barriers that prevent displaced populations from fully participating in local and global economies.
Bringing together industry captains and development partners, we will explore opportunities for inclusive finance interventions i for displaced and vulnerable populations. The roundtable will focus on scalable solutions and private sector engagement frameworks that can facilitate access to financial services.
