The overall objective of the Uruguayan trade promotion strategy is to disseminate country image, develop a Strategic Business Partnership Network and establish a Business Intelligence system. In spite of a strong external network of embassies, staff based abroad are neither equipped nor sensitized to trade promotion and market intelligence issues and challenges. In phase 1 of the project for the development of the National Trade Intelligence Platform, recommendations and tools to strengthen the DIPCI were developed. Now, DIPCI would like to achieve a broader reach of its mandate, tools and methodologies through additional training of its staff.
