The International Trade Centre (ITC), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Center for Economics and Development Studies (CEDS) will organise a workshop on 25 and 26 November 2013 in Bandung, Indonesia. The purpose of this workshop will be to introduce participants to ITC tools and methodologies for analysing international trade.
Participants targeted include researchers and economists in the field of international trade and development from research institutes, government ministries, development institutes and the ADB from the region. Countries represented at the workshop include: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
The workshop fits within the context of a broader interest in closer future collaboration between ITC and The Asian Development Bank and regional and national institutions in Asia in the area of market analysis and research.
The first day of the workshop will allow participants to learn about what ITC tools offer and practise using them. The second day of the workshop will provide an overview of ITC’s technical assistance offerings in the areas of trade analysis and inputs / tools to support trade policy formulation.
The second day of the workshop will provide participants with information about other activities run by ITC to increase awareness and understanding on trade issues, strategies and policies.
The workshop is seen as a starting point for further capacity building cooperation at the regional and national level.
