A brand for Senegalese mangoes ?

Professional’s in the Senegalese mango sector will create a Senegalese mango brand; ASEPEX (the Senegalese agency for exports promotion) organised a workshop to promote the Senegalese mango label.
The creation of a brand would give Senegalese mangoes more visibility attracting consumers to the product: thanks to this marketing strategy, being clearly distinguishable, the product would allow exporters to better meet their markets and increase market shares.
The label would be a sign of confidence and mango traders believe that with a strong adherence to the initiative and an impacting branding, their profitability could increase by 15-20%. Nevertheless, this cannot be done in the very short term as it will be necessary, in a first step, to rally together all professionals of the private and institutional sectors.
Work is now underway for the campaign which is about to start, to help producers stock their products and improving production volumes which currently reach about 125.000 tons per year.
