PIGA Promoting the Pharmaceutical Sector in Kenya to visiting Chinese investors (en)
The International Trade Centre (ITC) in partnership with the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products (CCCMHPIE), held a full day workshop and B2Bs on 30 August in Nairobi Kenya. More than 40 bilateral business meetings between the visiting Chinese companies and Kenyan Pharmaceutical companies took place during the event. Organized in the context of the PIGA project, the objective of this event was to promote investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector in Kenya.
This event provided an opportunity for Chinese investors to learn about the investment climate and opportunities in Kenya, and meet with Kenyan Government officials from the Ministry of Health, Medical Regulatory bodies, pharmacy and poisons board. During the B2B, discussions focused on potential investment partnerships and follow-up support for partnership to materialize is currently provided by PIGA.
Under the framework of PIGA, ITC facilitates investment in Africa, by providing capacity building and advisory support to African companies and Investment Promotion Agencies in Kenya, to organize visits of Chinese investors to PIGA countries and to materialize investment leads initiated during these events. visits.
