On November 24 at Bayalinov National Library, the ITC Programme gave a presentation on its participation in two exhibitions– “Ethical Fashion Show 2011”, 1-4 September in Paris, and “Textillegprom 2011” 27-30 September in Moscow. The presentation was attended by different stakeholders - clothing companies, design companies, university faculty staff and students, and representatives of donor organizations. The Project companies shared their experience and knowledge gained at the trade fairs, including information on new business contacts and specific requirements of Russian and European consumers. Photos and videos from the trade fairs were shown during the presentation. The presentation was concluded with a Question and Answer session.

With the support of ITC Trade Promotion Programme, four Kyrgyz design companies - Dilbar Fashion House, Magic Felt, Studio by Tatiana Vorotnikova, and Z&Z Salon - took part in one of the prestigious international fairs, Ethical Fashion Show (EFS), which took place on 1-4 September 2011 at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France. The fair brings together designers who incorporate their countries’ cultures into their clothing products through the use of different techniques, traditional skills and natural fabrics, with great emphasis on the environment. Participation in the fair gave an opportunity to Kyrgyz companies to showcase their products, understand the requirements of the market and its consumers, establish contacts with international partners and customers, sign new contracts and obtain orders.

Ten Kyrgyz clothing industry companies participated in the Russian trade fair “Textillegprom”, which took place on 27-30 September 2011 at the All Russian Exhibition Centre (VVC) in Moscow. The Federal Trade Fair for Textile and Light Industry Goods and Equipment “Textillegprom” is the largest specialized event on this subject in the Russian Federation. Each year the Fair hosts more than 2,400 enterprises, representing more than 3,100 industrial and trade companies from 27 countries. The trade fair was a good trading place for Kyrgyz manufacturers to meet with representatives of Russian retail companies and to conclude new contracts for the wholesale and retail supply of their products. This was a great opportunity for the companies to study the structure of the Russian market, its product assortment, and production technologies and to monitor prices and the competitive environment.
