Boosting organizational skills in trade information (en)
Managers and officers from business information services in trade promotion organisations, chambers of commerce, business associations and other export-related organisations were at the centre at the International Trade Centre’s Geneva headquarters on 26 November to 5 December.
Participants from China, Ethiopia, Gambia, Kenya, Palestine and Qatar took part in the annual ‘Trade Information Training Programme’, which is organized by ITC’s Trade Information Services team.
The event provided a unique opportunity for managers and officers from business information services and trade support institutions to access the most up-to-date methods, tools and trends for boosting organizational skills to collect, process and deliver intelligence on international market opportunities.
From Web 2.0 to trade statistics
The week-long programme covered topics such as Web 2.0 in trade information management, information service planning, delivery of trade information, promotion of information services, market news, trends and reports, market access and trade regulations, trade statistics and international prices.
‘The ITC ‘s Trade Information Training Programme has given us a unique opportunity to access the most up-to-date methods, tools and trends for boosting our organisation’s skills to find, process and exploit information on international markets for the benefit of our clients. With these new skills, we will be able to produce and deliver trade information services more effectively,’ said Ms Rebecca Mpaayei, Manager Women Enterprise Development at Kenya’s Export Promotion Council.
