ITC global trade platform now in Bahasa
(Yogyakarta) – The Global Trade Helpdesk, a free online platform with trade intelligence for small businesses, is now available in Bahasa Indonesia.
This gives Indonesia’s 64 million small businesses better access to information about imports, market dynamics, tariffs, regulatory requirements, trade finance providers, e-commerce marketplaces and digital payment solutions, trade finance providers, and more.
Small businesses create most of Indonesia’s job but sell only 15% of the country’s exports. More accessible market intelligence can change that.
The Bahasa edition of Global Trade Helpdesk was created through a partnership with ICC Indonesia Centre of Entrepreneurship of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
The platform was unveiled on 23 April at the JCI International Business Solutions Expo in Yogyakarta. A workshop at the Expo provided a hands-on lesson on how to conduct market research and compare opportunities across markets.
‘In line with our G20 mandate to make information for small businesses more accessible, we are proud to be partnering with ICC Indonesia to make the Global Trade Helpdesk available in Indonesian,’ said ITC Executive Director, Pamela Coke-Hamilton. ‘Working together, we can ensure that small businesses in Indonesian communities can also benefit from this comprehensive digital platform and the new opportunities it brings for its dynamic entrepreneurs.’
Nunki Juniarti, Head of the Centre of Entrepreneurship Jakarta Hub of ICC Indonesia said: ‘Our purpose is to empower Indonesian firms with the market intelligence they need to grow and be competitive in new markets. And, as we know, having updated and reliable information about the markets is one of the keys to success in international trade.’
Growing support for the Global Trade Helpdesk
Global Trade Helpdesk has over 220,000 users from across 197 economies. The platform has earned the support of the Group of 20. The Jaipur Call for Action in 2023 nominated the platform for technological upgrading to enhance accessibility for small businesses. It also has the backing of 100 members of the World Trade Organization Informal Working Group on Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.
With Bahasa Indonesia, the Global Trade Helpdesk is now available in seven languages, including Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
The Global Trade Helpdesk is an initiative of the International Trade Centre, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the World Trade Organization with the participation of the African Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Chamber of Commerce, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the World Customs Organization, the World Bank Group and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
