Facilitating the adoption of trade policies that facilitate
the international competitiveness of SMEs exports is at the heart of ITC’s work at the policy level. ITC provides assistance to policymakers on the involvement of the business community in preparation for trade negotiations, including WTO accession, the establishment of consultative mechanisms on the creation of trade policy, the adoption of the Trade Facilitation Agreement, and the design of national and sector-specific export strategies. Facilitating a dialogue between private and public stakeholders on trade policy issues means that policies benefit from broad national support and are more effectively geared towards economic advancement.
