Ginger oil prices expected to continue to remain high

China remains the dominant source of
ginger oil, but the spice trade (whole and ground ginger) continues to dominate
the ginger market restricting supplies for distillation. Prices are expected to
remain high for the foreseeable future. Supplies of ginger oil from India are
restricted.
Earlier attempts to re-establish ginger production and
distillation in traditional West African origins (Sierra Leone) have resulted in
a new oil supplies coming to the market.
