    The St. Petersburg International Commercial Arbitration Court (SPICAC) was established in 1997 by a joint effort of, among others, the St. Petersburg Foundation for Protection of Investments (SPFPI) and the Chairman of the Legal Committee of St Petersburg. It enjoys active spport from the American Bar Association.
    The Court administers arbitrations in accorddance with the 1993 Russian Federation Law on International Commercial Arbitration. Its arbitration rules are essentially those of the UNCITRAL, adapted in accordance with UNCITRAL standard recommendations.
    The Court maintains an optional list of Russian and foreign arbitrators whom it considers qualified to arbitrate disputes involving Russian parties. Many of the foreign arbitrators on the list are fluent in Russian and experienced in Russian Law. The Court can also assist in locating interpreters and translators when required.
