Brain drain an export service

"In Nigeria you can buy a PC cheaper than anywhere you will find in Europe. Information technology, therefore, you would say, is available. But who knows that this represents information technology. Very few. Internet activities are taking place in offices. But who knows about e-commerce and its potential. Hardly anyone. Service exports probably exist in every office. But nobody knows that they are exporting a service. We are very worried in Nigeria about what we call the brain drain. So far as I am concerned the brain drain is nothing more than a service export. So what we should be looking for û what I think ITC can do for us û is to help us to re-orientate our thought, to learn to accept that Nigeria has a high potential in service of exports that she is today wrongly calling a brain drain and help re-direct the thinking of the policy makers."
