The World Export Development Forum
(W•E•D•F) is the flagship event of the International
Trade Centre, the joint agency of the World Trade
Organization and the United Nations. It is the unique
global forum dedicated to innovations in export
development and export competitiveness, and to the
challenges faced by developing countries and economies
in transition.
The event is particularly noted for its pragmatic
approach to export development, and to its interactive,
debate-style format. It is also recognized for its
contribution to global thought leadership, particularly
in the area of national export development strategy.
The W•E•D•F brings together senior national and
international policy-makers, heads of trade support
institutions, representatives of international agencies,
and business leaders. The event is designed to
accommodate about 220 decision-makers from about 50
countries.
The 2008 edition marked the 10 th anniversary of the
W•E•D•F. It was held in Montreux, Switzerland, from
October 8 to 11 at the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace
Hotel. |
