National Centre for Enterprise Management Development to provide export-management training for Chinese enterprises.

(Paris/Geneva) – The International Trade Centre (ITC) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) today announced the launch of the National Centre for Enterprise Management Development, which will serve to strengthen the internationalization of Chinese micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

The new training centre was announced by CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan and ITC Executive Director Arancha González on the 12th World Trade Promotion Organizations Conference taking place in Paris, France.

During their meeting in Paris, González and Gao signed a license agreement that bestows upon CCPIT the right to operate in China the National Centre for Enterprise Management Development. The centre will provide training and counselling programmes with a view to enhance the export-management capacities of Chinese MSMEs, using a methodology, materials and tools provided by ITC.

‘At ITC we are pleased to strengthen this partnership with CCPIT and to continue to promote tools and trainings that can help support entrepreneurs and companies in China to build their competitiveness, says Ms. Gonzalez. The impact of ITC’s training curriculum, which is being re-tooled and tailored for use at the National Centre for Enterprise Management Development, has already been demonstrated in other ITC- licensed training centres, and I am confident that it will be successfully rolled out under the leadership of the CCPIT.

Ms. Gao said: ‘CCPIT highly values the longstanding close cooperation with ITC. The launch of the National Centre for Enterprise Management Development is a brand-new action to further strengthen the partnership between ITC and CCPIT. I do believe that we will sharpen the competitive edge of Chinese MSMEs which are conducting their international business in global market through the NCEMD with the aim to better serve the globally economic and social development.’

In addition to supporting Chinese MSMEs to internationalize, ITC and CCPIT will be exploring further areas of collaboration. This includes projects and programmes to boost regional and international cooperation and trade in conjunction with the rollout of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
