The Fifth Senior Executive Roundtable on Sourcing from Women Vendors organised by the International Trade Centre (ITC) will be launched in Kigali, Rwanda, on 15 September 2014 by the Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Oda Gasinzigwa and the Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC) Arancha González.

Gracing the event will be the First Lady of Ethiopia, H.E. Roman Tesfaye Abneh, who will deliver remarks at the opening of the roundtable.

The event will bring together 50 decision-makers in the public and private sectors to discuss mechanisms through which procurement can be leveraged for the benefit of women through knowledge and information sharing, for example.

The roundtable will focus on the implementation and replication of good practices which will enhance trade opportunities for women entrepreneurs. Discussions will include diversification of products and services and access to supply chains.

The Chief Executive Officer of CXCatalysts, Tess Mateo, will address delegates on exploring innovations in inclusive sourcing. They will discuss the benefits, challenges and opportunities of leveraging the untapped pool of women entrepreneurs to transform their procurement operations and create dynamic, efficient and sustainable supply chains.

‘This event is a unique global platform to advance the discourse and generate innovative ways of ensuring that government and private sector commitments to integrating women into procurement are realised,’ said Vanessa Erogbogbo, ITC’s Women and Trade Programme Manager.

‘Following the roundtable, delegates will be networked and equipped to capitalise on opportunities,’ she added.
