Established in 1975 as a rural vegetable tannery producing vegetable sole leather and vegetable goatskin lining leather for the local footwear industry. In 1995 acquired machinery for production of Composite Ginnery Chrome washers. By utilizing these solid tannery wastes we contribute tremendously to the cleaning up of the environment because previously these were being burnt in the open air resulting in the chromium III ions being oxidized to chromium VI ions that would eventually dissolve in the rain water and pollute water bodies. We also produce pickled goatskins. We employ 22 people. Annual average turn over is Euros 320,000. |

Seeking joint ventures to upgrade tannery to produce wet blue goatskins and cow hides for export. We need to upgrade our effluent system to accommodate chrome tanning and chrome recycling We shall also need machinery manufacturing firms to supply the following on concessionary terms: a full hide fleshing machine, sammying machine, electronic measuring machine and a hydraulic goatskin-fleshing machine. Currently we are utilizing 80% of the leather off-cuts and trimmings in the manufacture of ginnery chrome washers. We plan to use the remaining 20% to manufacture leather boards for the shoe industry and will need machinery to produce these items. |
