Mossop Western Leathers is the largest producer of bovine leather to the footwear and leather goods industry in South Africa. Established in 1846, the tannery is located in Wellington, Western Cape, 80 km from Cape Town. The company employs approximately 200 people at a crust and finishing plant. Products focus mainly on the school shoe market, and include full grain leather, PU coated split leather under the Tektan and Ecotan labels, and suede. |
