Footwear Manufacturers
Company Ltd. is an association of small-scale footwear manufacturers in Ghana.
It was officially registered in 2005 though operations started in 1990. The head
office of the association is in Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana.Our
main objective is to pursue the business interests of all small-scale footwear
makers in the informal sector. We are organized in zones. The estimated number
of manufacturers in Kumasi alone is 500 with about 2,000 employers. The annual
turnover of all the operators is estimated at US$5 million. |

We
can increase our production capacity significantly more than we are doing now.
We, however, require local and foreign orders. Complementary to contract for
production is We need assistance in training towards improved quality. We also
need partnership or joint ventures for supply of appropriate machinery and
equipment to serve the cluster of operators for high output and good quality
finish. Our products are patronized in neighbouring West African countries. We,
however, need to expand our export marketing. |
