We are looking for
university students and recent graduates in purchasing, supply and logistics willing to undertake
an internship of 2 to 6 months at ITC Headquarters, in Geneva. They
should generally have a University background in commerce, law,
information systems, economics and/or business administration, and be
oriented towards assisting the economic development of countries.
Requirements
- Academic background and,
if possible, work experience in the areas of purchasing, supply
management and/or logistics.
- Motivation and
initiative.
- Good writing skills,
some experience in training or consultancy.
- Fluency in written and
spoken English, and/or French and/or Spanish.
- Good knowledge of office
software applications for word processing ( Word or Word Perfect),
presentations (Power Point), spreadsheet and database management (
Excel, Access) and/or Web authoring tools (FrontPage and HTML).
Examples of Internships
- Participating in the
preparation of training modules on purchasing and supply management,
including supporting presentations (Power Point based) .
- Research on Internet
information sources on purchasing and logistics.
- Participation in
developing Web sites.
- Participation in
developing specialised tools, e.g. in the area of public procurement.
- Development of
programmes and surveys for supply chain improvement
Conditions
- Interns do not receive
payment within the UN system, and are expected to cover their living
expenses.
- A certificate of
internship will be issued at the end of the assignment
