Being competitive means
meeting customers’ needs by offering them the right product at the right
time at the right price… and at the lowest possible cost to your company so
that it makes a fair profit. Enterprises – which often spend more than 60%
of their revenue covering the cost of their supply chain operations – can
greatly enhance their competitiveness and customer delivery performance
through improved supply chain management.
ITC’s
Modular Learning System in International Purchasing & Supply Chain
Management (MLS-IPSCM)
is the most important training tool offered by ITC in this key area. It
helps enterprises to improve all aspects of managing their supply chains
through its 12 core modules and several supplementary modules. The training
it supports can lead enterprises to become more competitive by:
-
Ensuring continuity and flexibility of supply.
-
Reducing supply lead-times.
-
Optimising their supply quality.
-
Promoting supply innovation.
-
Reducing supply and inventory costs.
The MLS-IPSCM has been built upon
ITC’s extensive field experience with its partner countries and on requests
from beneficiaries for a comprehensive set of training support materials in
purchasing & supply chain management.
The MLS-IPSCM uses an interactive and
participative approach to support group training and/or individually-based
open learning. Each Module comprises a trainee’s Coursebook, a Workbook &
Answerbook, and a pack of trainer’s presentation Slides.
The MLS-IPSCM is offered to partner
institutions through an Agreement with ITC under which they must provide
regular feedback on the use of the materials. These local partners must
ensure that the training services that they offer are delivered
professionally and are accessible and affordable to their country’s business
community.
LearningNet
When acquiring the MLS-IPSCM, partner
institutions may automatically become members of ITC’s worldwide IPSCM
Learning Network, supported by a web portal (www.ipscm-learningnet.net).
In this network web portal, you will be able to find
more
information
on
the MLS-IPSCM (including the standard Agreement, sample pages of MLS-IPSCM
materials and other documentation) in both English and Spanish.
An increasing number of ITC’s
local MLS-IPSCM partner institutions are actively involved in developing
complementary country- and/or sector-specific modules as well as additional
materials and training aids such as cases and exercises, to be used as part
of their MLS-IPSCM training programmes. These are being shared across the
IPSCM Learning Network.
