In the Operations Plan of the Business Plan you will elaborate how your institution functions in terms of :

  • Location & Facilities
    In this part you will briefly explain the location of your instiution's premises and highlight which facilities your institution can use to deliver its programmes – define if they are owned, rented or donated to the institution. Basically, a training or business support organization needs *) office space, *) access to meeting or conference room and *) access to training room of a high quality.
  • Organization
    The organizational structure defines which function is responsible for which main topics. It also clarifies the hierarchy levels and the communication and decision paths. The organizational structure is visualized by an organization chart.
     
  •  Management
    P rovide a brief introduction of the management team by listing the names, the position and responsibilities of each member. Make references to qualifications and relevant work experience gained in your institution and elsewhere.
  • Basic “production process” – value chain
    In this part you will explain how your main process from needs assessment to delivery of programmes and services is organized in your institution.

    This means defining the primary activities of your institution (e.g. needs analysis, programme development, programme sales, programmes delivery) and which functions are responsible for these. Each activity should be briefly explained to demonstrate that your institution is working in a professional way.

 

 

  • Communication and Information Technology (IT)
    A solid IT support is indispensable for institutions providing business support and training. Throughout this Guide you will see that the use of communication and information technology is considered very important starting with financial planning, accounting, email and mail correspondence, developing brochures and presentations to internet marketing and maintaining client contact databases.
  • External service providers
    Define briefly which kind of services your institution has to buy and from whom (e.g. printing, catering, direct mailing)
