The International Trade Centre teamed up with the Commonwealth Secretariat and a number of local partners to organize two Inclusive Tourism workshops in two regions whose growth has increasingly been dependent on tourism: Africa (Kigali, 25-27 January 2010) and the Pacific (Sydney, 28 September-1 October 2010). The aim of these workshops was to build capacity of high level public and private sector representatives and share information on approaches, tools, methodologies, and valuable experiences for implementing sustainable tourism projects/programmes that reduce poverty. There were more than 100 participants in total for the two workshops.
