NTM Survey Overview:
Current Status: Survey complete and report published.
The ITC's business survey in Peru was implemented in 2010 in collaboration with a local survey Ipsos APOYO Opinion y Mercado S.A. A total of 960 companies were contacted with 31% of them being affected by burdensome regulations. A detailed face-to-face interviews were taken with representatives of 123 affected companies to determine the exact nature and cause of the problem.
The country report on Peru based on the the data and testimonials of the companies collected during the survey was prepared by local experts Fernando Gonzalez Vigil (Universidad del Pacifico) and Cesar Gala (Universidad del Pacifico) in collaboration with ITC consultant Christian Knebel. The results of the survey was validated by national stakeholders during the NTM stakeholder meeting held in Lima on 10 February 2012. The issues discussed and recommendation formulated during the meeting were also incorporated in the final report.
