  • The growth of international trade has greatly increased business opportunities for exporters from developing countries. Most are small businesses seeking to enter international markets, whilst others are already operating in global market chains.

For many, the road to export success is often obstructed with constraints that range from poor access to market data, stringent technical requirements or insufficient product innovation.
  • To develop and grow sustainable exports requires that businesses strengthen their export readiness, differentiate their products, and have access to business support services that are adapted to their needs today, and in the longer term.

ITC seeks to build skills, scale and sustainability in export development. Depending on market chain requirements and agreed upgrade strategy, ITC designs the appropriate development intervention in coordination with local partners and donor organizations. The transfer of practical knowledge and export business skills is integral to all technical assistance programmes. The goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of businesses in key export sectors to achieve measurable impact in job creation, community engagement and environmental sustainability.
