Paper prepared for the 17th Session of UNIDO’s Leather and Leather Products Panel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 18-21 January 2010 - focuses on the Regulation of the European Union (EU) on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), which aims to streamline the legislative framework on chemicals in order to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks by chemicals, while enhancing competitiveness and innovation; gives background information and practical advice to the leather industry so as to maintain or establish business in the EU market. |
