Practical Exporters’ guides are structured in a one-page question and
answer format, each answering 100 common questions about a variety of
trade-related issue in a logical, step-by-step approach.
These guides provide answers and reference information for
frequently-asked questions on a variety of trade issues. In most cases,
the questions are determined by surveying small- and medium-sized
enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries and economies in transition to
find out their common concerns. ITC's technical experts answer each
question in one to two pages, accompanied by references for further
information.
Trade support institutions from over 50 countries have partnered with
ITC to produce national versions of these guides. Institution in
developing and transition economies that wish to reproduce the guides in
their countries may sign a licensing or joint publication agreement with
ITC, and agree to customize the contents of the guide for a national SME
audience.
Customization by a TSI may involve any or all of:
- Researching and writing an Annex to the guide, as produced by ITC,
which gives country-specific resource information about the relevant
topic.
- Translating the guide as produced by ITC, into the national
language/s
- Reproducing the guide for dissemination in the country.
