The e-discussion, "Is your trade support network working?", was held from 24 to 29 September. It ran in parallel with ITC’s Executive Forum on National Export Strategies (26-29 September), held in Montreux, Switzerland. 

Twenty-five national teams from developing and transition economies, comprising senior strategy- makers and business leaders were in Montreux for the debate.

This e-mail based Discussion Forum focused on identifying "best technical and operational practices" for a national trade support network and how trade support can be delivered most effectively to the individual exporter.

Organizations throughout the world are grappling with how to create, coordinate, and communicate among public and private trade support networks to provide effective services to exporters.

These services might include: help with access to foreign markets, market information, advice on transport or export finance, product design, standards or training in export marketing or supply chain management.
