Training on e-commerce for SMEs takes place in Tehran with ITC's support, 23-27 June 2007 ITC, together with experts from Jordan and Iran, contributed to practical knowledge transfer on e-commerce at a workshop on "e-commerce for SME development and marketing in the global economy" held in Tehran from 23 until 27 June 2007 at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Mines (ICCIM). Co-organized by the Iranian Research Institute on Science and Technology (IROST) and financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the event was attended by an audience of more than 60 participants, both from the public and private sector from 10 Organization of Islamic Countries member states. ETDU contributes to the WTO Information Technology Agreement (ITA) Symposium The E-Trade Development Unit actively participated in the WTO Information Technology Symposium, held in Geneva on  28 March 2007, and made a presentation on "Mobile telephony applications for business efficiency and the development process in Africa". tradeathand Nominee at GSM Awards The ITC's initiative named Trade at Hand was a Commended Nominee at the 2007 Global Mobile Awards by the GSM Association (GSMA). It was selected for Category 6: "Best Use of Mobile for Social and Economic Development." www.gsmawards.com

Release of an m-business potential assessment study The e-Trade Development Unit has released a new publication on the potential of mobile phones for businesses in sub-Saharan countries.
