Haiti continues its reconstruction and stabilization process after the earthquake that struck the country in January 2010, which caused unprecedented human and economic damage. The country, widely supported by international assistance, focuses on rebuilding public administration, developing infrastructure, supporting agriculture and attracting foreign investment. The GDP growth was spurred by the reconstruction, the inflow of international aid and the moderate recovery of key sectors such as agriculture, Haiti is the only country in region considered a Least Developed Country (LDC) remains in a vulnerable position.

The Action Plan for National Recovery and Development of Haiti 2010-2030 defines the government´s strategic goals and its priorities and has been adopted by the UNDP as the UNDAF document.

In 2010, the country participated in the EU funded project implemented by ITC and Caribbean Export for promoting CARIFORUM Creative Industries. ITC also foresees some cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry to strengthen its institutional infrastructure for export.
