- Local technical expertise on trade policy has been strengthened
- PITAD training capacity has been strengthened through the partial upgrading of its
Specialized Training Programme (STP).
- The 9-months continuous mentorship programme between WTI world class Mentors and Pakistani Master Trainers has led to the approval by the WTI Executive Board to co certify some of the modules developed by the Master Trainers under the supervision of their Mentors
- Additional Secretary Department of Commerce and Industry, Government of Punjab who participated in the training informed that a budget of Rs. 2 millions for capacity building available in his department. He was impressed by the quality of training provided by the Master Trainers and expressed his interest in requesting them to conduct further capacity building activities.
- Local research capacity has been strengthened through a peer-review mechanism established for the production of research papers by local experts from PITAD and other
Pakistani research institutes. This process, which includes a continuous supervision of local
experts by world class international experts, led to the finalization of technical papers which were used to inform the public-private dialogues. The foundations for a locally driven
public- private interaction mechanism for trade policy formulation have been established through the recognition by the Government of the Public Private Dialogue Steering
Committee and the activation of its Executive Committee, which has led the preparation, conducted, and carried out the follow up work of the first two public private dialogues
(Trade in Services and Regional Integration).
