Aicha A. Pouye, a Senegalese national, joined ITC as the Director of the Division of Trade Support Services in September 2006.

Ms Pouye recently managed Senegal's Millennium Challenge Account with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (an initiative of the United States Government to increase growth and reduce poverty). It included the development of a proposal to build a $300 million economic and industrial complex, expected to be in the final stage of approval by the end of 2006.

Previously, she was Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, then Minister of Trade in the Government of Senegal, with responsibility for trade negotiations, export promotion strategies and assistance strategies for small firms.

Ms Pouye began her career with Ernst and Young International. She then joined Citibank Dakar. Her positions with the bank included those of Resident Vice President and Group Vice-President before she became General Administrator of the Economic Promotion Fund.

Ms Pouye studied economics, management and business administration at the University of Paris Dauphine and the Enterprise Administration Institute in Caen, France.
