    Farmers associations build knowledge

    March 23, 2012

Challenges in coffee production were the focus of a two-day field training in Masaka for 60 leaders from six different farming associations eager to learn about the value-chain, export marketing and procedures, and traceability (4C). Participants at the workshop from 22-23 March identified problems and proposed solutions, learned about the code of conduct and experimented with the self-assessment tool.

The participants said they would need appropriate training materials to share their knowledge with grassroots farmers. More funding will be needed to produce updated materials.
