    The EU and Myanmar

The EU has been a key partner of Myanmar since 2011 and the country’s democratic transition. The EU’s overall diplomacy towards Myanmar is to promote peace, protect human rights, and encourage democracy, prosperity and the rule of law. Particularly, the EU in Myanmar is working towards fostering sustainable and inclusive growth. The Myanmar Arise Plus project will therefore contribute to the Government of Myanmar’s objectives of job creation and private sector-led growth.
