    • 2007 green bean imports: 17.00 million bags;
    • Brazils led with 28%. Brazil, Vietnam, Colombia, Peru and Honduras represented 71% of 2007 green bean imports.
    • Estimated shares: arabica 68% (2003 77%), robusta 31% (2003 23%).
    • Processed coffee imports were 2.524 million bags (GBE); exports of all forms of coffee were 10.695 million bags of which 2.283 million bags were decaffeinated green bean. Germany also re-exported 2.760 million bags non decaffeinated green coffee.

    • Espresso coffee is gaining popularity, and although imports from Italy are still important, internal German production is now greater than imports from Italy.

    • Re-exports R&G 3.1 mln bags GBE of which 2.9 mln to EU countries;
    • Re-exports Soluble 2.5 mln bags GBE (EU 1.7 mln; Russia 0.3 mln; Ukraine 0.3 mln);
    • ICO data put 2008 per capita consumption at 6.94 kg.
